The initiative to The Waste of Nations was taken by the Swedish Taxpayers’ Association (Swedish: Skattebetalarnas Förening) in an attempt to highlight waste of taxpayers’ money and shine a spotlight on the factors that lie behind this waste of resources. Why is tax money being spent on the wrong things and why is efficiency so often conspicuous by its absence?

The Swedish Taxpayers’ Association (Swedish: Skattebetalarnas Förening) is an association and taxpayers union in Sweden which advocates low taxes and efficiency in the public sector. The association was first founded in 1921 and since then has grown very fast.
